Baby formulas without palm oil

Palm oil is permitted in infant formula under both FDA and EU rules and supplies palmitic acid, which breast milk carries in quantity. Formulas avoid it two ways: by keeping milk fat, as Kendamil and ByHeart do, or by building a seed-oil blend without it, as the whole Similac line does.

Palm-free is not the same as a better fat blend. Some formulas here replace palm with more seed oil and carry no palmitic acid at all, which is a trade rather than an upgrade. Formulas whose fat blend we have not verified are also out.
