Ready-to-feed infant formulas

Ready-to-feed formula is sterile at manufacture, which removes the Cronobacter risk that powder carries and the 70°C preparation step with it. The AAP and CDC point to it for newborns under two months, preterm infants and immunocompromised infants. It costs two to three times more per ounce.

What this list includes, and what it leaves out

Included
Formulas sold as a ready-to-drink liquid, needing no water and no mixing.
Left out
Liquid concentrate is not here: it is diluted 1:1 before feeding, so it carries a preparation step and a different price basis. Prices on this page are per fluid ounce of liquid and are not comparable to the per-ounce-of-powder figures elsewhere in the Atlas.
